Edelweiss Inn

We had one of the most restful nights away from home, and the trip was among my most pleasant. The hotel was exceptionally quiet despite being so close to the road. Trolley cars were a handy way to get around when downtown parking seemed impossible. The room was beautifully clean, and Robert gave the kind of helpful service you wish every hotel offered. He knew the area well and was clearly excited to talk about his town. We'll definitely be back!

It's a cute little hotel in a great location, close to lots of amenities, and the room was very clean. Just be sure you understand the check-in rules: this isn't a typical hotel where you can arrive whenever. I missed the fine print in the listing and didn't realize Saturday check-in had to be by 10 pm. I'd thought we'd arrive around 3, but our plans changed at the last minute. We pulled into the lot around 10:40 and couldn't see where to check in. We were about to leave, accepting the loss and not angry about the misunderstanding, when the owner called. He'd seen us arrive on his camera and asked when we'd be there. When I said I hadn't noticed the check-in policy, he spoke to me rudely, as if I were an idiot instead of someone who'd made a simple mistake. It was kind of him to leave the key in the room so we wouldn't have to pay for another hotel, but his tone made me feel bad about it when I already felt terrible. If he was worried we wouldn't show, he could have called after we missed our original arrival time instead of waiting until he saw us in the lot. Mistakes happen, and he made the situation worse for me. Don't make any booking mistakes here.

I spent three nights here on a motorcycle trip and had a wonderful stay. The inn is near everything while still outside the bustle of downtown. My room faced the woods at the back, and it was quiet and great. The room was comfortable and spotlessly clean. I enjoyed sitting on the back deck with other guests, and deer came into the backyard. Robert and Charlotte, the owners, were lovely and knew a lot about the area, restaurants, and motorcycle routes. All in all, a wonderful experience.

The staff were really nice, and there was plenty to walk to, including McGaritys, which shared the same lot and had great food and drinks. Downtown was only a few minutes away, and the location worked well for Spring Fling Rally events. The beds were very comfortable. Loved this place and will definitely stay again.
