Royal Inn

The pool looked really clean, though we ran out of time to use it. We were nervous because older reviews mentioned bed bugs and poor service, but this may be one of the nicest motels we've stayed at for the price. We think it's under new management. We checked the room with a UV light and it was SO clean. Service was great, although we don't need much. The older reviews do seem outdated to me, but the pillow complaints still apply, so I'd bring your own. A lot of things are old: there were holes in the comforter, the furniture was creaky, and our TV was discolored and dated. Still, those issues don't outweigh the price. For a couple of nights, it's a strong option.

No problems during my stay. The room was clean and the staff were pretty good.

The room was okay and the sheets were clean, but the place had that old, worn-out, moldy stink. They had the nerve to tell me I couldn't smoke in there, like it would matter. Dr Feelgood was down the hall, which helped. The Coke machine out front got me for 50, but they leveled up.

We arrived around 7:30 PM in West Palm Beach for a concert, planning to drop our things and get ready, and only then learned our reservation at The Royal Inn had been canceled because of a supposed “pipe burst.” Nobody had contacted us before we showed up. That did nothing to excuse the lack of courtesy or professionalism. The receptionist was already being rude to someone on the phone, talking over them and snapping as if doing her job was a bother. When it was our turn, we got the same attitude. No apology, no effort to fix things, and no help finding somewhere to stay beyond a useless list of hotel phone numbers and a basic “nothing we can do, figure it out.” With the city packed for the concert, we had to scramble for another hotel and missed the opening act. Their poor management and communication completely ruined what should've been a fun night. The Royal Inn is a joke of a business if this is how it operates. They clearly don't care about guests or honoring reservations. Don't waste your time or money here. I'd give zero if I could. Stay literally anywhere else.
