Rodeway Inn Greeley

We booked two nights at the roadway inn, but the room was so disgusting that we decided not to stay. It had visible bed bugs, a broken window, big holes all over, and a strong cigarette smell. At the front office, the woman couldn’t give us a refund and asked us to return when a manager was there. We came back today after staying somewhere much nicer. Yedonia, the manager, could only offer a refund for one night because the negligent staff hadn’t written our names down. If you get room 224, don’t stay there.

I’m homeless, and this room took every bit of extra money I had. After a week sleeping in my car without a shower or a comfortable night’s sleep, I paid to stay from Thursday, June 14 I believe, until Saturday morning. Things were fine until Friday afternoon, June 15. I left around 4 p.m. for a visit I had to attend, and while I was away, someone gave a room key to a woman who wasn’t authorized on my account and had no permission to enter my room. I got a message about it that night. When I returned around 8:30 or 9, I asked the front desk who had given her the key. I was frustrated, but I didn’t threaten or mistreat the woman. She got snappy and defensive, then told me as I was leaving not to book there again because I was now on the do not read list. I was allowed to stay one more night, but I left. I had an emergency Friday night and couldn’t collect my belongings before leaving; when I came back Saturday to check out, everything I owned was gone. I have no clothes or hygiene items, I’m living in my car, and I have no money. The hotel caused this by giving a key to someone unauthorized. I won’t return until I know it’s safe, and I wouldn’t recommend staying there.

It feels safe, it’s clean and looked after, and the staff were wonderful. This isn’t a glamorous hotel, and a building this old is bound to show some wear, but the owners and staff are maintaining it well. Everything worked as expected, and breakfast was standard for this kind of place. I’d definitely stay again.

The neighborhood seemed questionable, but the hotel was quiet. The staff were very friendly, helpful, and patient with my two little kids, who were stir crazy after our flight. We did find some stains on the sheets, but otherwise had a quiet stay without problems.
