Extended Stay America Suites Seattle Everett North

I've been in and out of this location quite a bit. The building is definitely old, but it has never been overly dirty, and when it is, the mess gets taken care of. Out of all the staff, only two have given me good interactions: Bella and Genieva at the front desk. They're always kind and helpful, unlike others who have had an attitude or dismissed me. I'm surprised they're not managing the place, since they help more than anyone else.

I stayed one night, November 14th 2025. Check-in was routine enough, but the second floor smelled so strongly of a rotting corpse that I nearly vomited getting off the elevator. I didn't want to be "that guest," so I put a T-shirt over my face just to breathe and endured it all night. My eyes kept watering and I didn't sleep at all. In the morning I asked the front desk if they could comp another night on a different floor, since the second floor had an obvious problem. I don't usually ask for extras, but this seemed justified. The heavy set woman at the desk snapped at me, said she'd checked and there was no smell, and claimed she couldn't comp a room. I believe she was lying; the smell of death was unmistakable. Her manner was extremely unprofessional and unwelcoming. I reminded her she was the hotel manager and that dismissing a paying guest with a valid complaint made no sense. I left irritated, then later got a message from my credit card about the hotel trying to charge it twice. I came back the next day, before the manager arrived. When she showed up, she seemed unhappy to see me and didn't want to let me through the gate when I said I had an accounting question. She rolled her eyes, turned red, insulted me, and made me feel like a jerk for asking a legitimate question before telling me to leave. This used to be a great little bargain with a laid-back, helpful, happy staff. In my view, the hotel now sucks, and the manager and staff don't understand hospitality. I suspect the manager was covering something up, maybe scheming to get money, but that's only my opinion. If you want to pay $100 to sit in the stench of rotting corpses all night, this one's for you.

Bella and Genevra at the front desk were friendly, helpful, and accommodating every time I spoke with them. Their professionalism made the stay more enjoyable. I was there for a few nights, and the visit was pleasant overall, though the property could use renovations. The stained carpets show their age and hurt the appearance, even though the rooms and common areas were clean. I've noticed what I assume are changes under new management, and hope the updates keep coming.

The staff are always really nice, and they made my time there much more pleasant and homey. It's a good spot if you're between places. Things are hard right now, and the hotel almost had the feel of an apartment.
