Best Western Exeter Inn & Suites

We found the property clean and well maintained, and our recently remodeled room felt new. The beds were comfortable, the room was well equipped for the price, and the new windows and good shades kept out sound and light. A traveling partner of mine has some difficulty with stairs, and the gentleman who checked us in at 3:30 pm on Oct 7 moved us to a first-floor room. Thank you! The exterior entrances felt fine in this small, quiet town. Breakfast was the usual free hotel spread, similar to Holiday Inn Express or Hampton Inn, with eggs, sausage, waffles, juice, cereal, yogurt, bananas, and more. It was clean and well stocked, though nothing special. Check-in was quick and friendly. Reasonably priced, clean, and good service. I recommend it.

The hotel itself was quite nice, but the night clerk was curt and unfriendly. When we asked for a dinner suggestion, she handed us a 2009 sheet listing burger places and said she didn’t know the area or any restaurants. It was 8:30 pm, with Exeter closing at 9, so we ended up driving to Visalia. We stayed two nights and didn’t eat breakfast there.

The hotel is right on the main road and well placed for a visit to Sequoia National Park. The staff were friendly and professional, and the property and updated rooms were clean. My one wish is that they’d replace the orange-rust drapes and bed skirt. They spoil the rooms’ modern feel.

I was frantic when I realized I’d misplaced my phone at breakfast, especially since we were miles away visiting Sequoia National Park. Gabriela was so kind. She alerted the front desk and even called my phone to help me locate it. I appreciate her help so much. She’s wonderful!
