Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Fair Oaks Farms

The room fridge was puzzling, as if it only cooled on a timer. I wasn’t sure whether it stopped keeping food cold after eight hours, so I didn’t trust it and threw out my leftovers. Also, the smoke detectors flashed green all night. I’m glad they’re there, but as a light sleeper I’d bring a sleep mask. We stayed one night to give ourselves time to enjoy Fair Oaks farms, and had a blast. The room was clean and comfortable, breakfast was fine with a nice range of choices, and the pool was small but kept my five-year-old happy for hours. He went down the slide about 42 times in a row. We had a good stay and would definitely come back.

This has become our regular place for short stays while our build is underway. We’ve been here six times in the past year, and every visit the rooms have been clean, the building in good repair, and the grounds well kept and thoughtfully designed. The staff have been exceptional. Bri and Connie deserve a big shout-out for always being pleasant, helpful, and going beyond what we expect. Highly recommend.

The front desk woman was very nice to me and my daughter, but I would not stay here again. After using the pool and hot tub only up to my waist, I woke up with red, pus-filled bumps all over the lower half of my body that had been in the water. I’m warning people because I don’t think the pool or hot tub water is being cleaned. The bed sank in and left my hips stiff, and I’m only 30. The pillows were so flat and thin my head was basically on the mattress. For $208 for one night, it definitely wasn’t worth it. The TV had maybe 22 channels, and we weren’t allowed to plug anything into the HDMI port, so no games or computer. Breakfast was just blueberry muffins, three cereals, milk, eggs, cheap thin ham like the kind in Lunchables, chewy sausage links, and bread you had to toast yourself on one toaster shared by all the guests. Anything else to do at Fair Oaks costs a lot for maybe less than an hour of experience. The restaurant was way overpriced too, $22 for a medium burger smaller than a Big Mac at McDonald’s and around 17 fries. The front desk sold a pint of ice cream for $11, about nine bites, and other snacks or drinks ran around $5-$9. They say they offer cribs, but it was just a pack-and-play with a stiff mattress that didn’t fit the whole base. Do not stay at this hotel.

I’ve been working in the area for a couple of months and don’t usually leave reviews. Everything here is clean and looked after. Connie, who works mornings at breakfast, is amazing. She hustles and still finds time to make you feel really welcome, which makes the stay that much better. It’s a great place to stay.
