Hyatt Place Fairbanks

That $150 incidental hold is ridiculous. After we had to change rooms, they wanted to charge another one before the first had even been returned. Then $100 from the first hold was actually charged as a pet cleaning fee. We had to explain that our dog is a service animal and isn’t subject to a fee. They refunded it, but that’s not really the point. They never disclosed a pet cleaning charge because, apparently, their policy is not to ask whether the animal is a service animal. So they just charge it without telling you?

Rooms could use an update, and breakfast wasn’t much to get excited about. Still, the location is great, with lots of shops and enough restaurants within walking distance. The airport shuttle is a real plus, and everyone we dealt with, including the drivers, was friendly, helpful, and accommodating. Marianela was awesome. She shared a bunch of tips that made our Fairbanks trip more comfortable and enjoyable.

The airport shuttle is free both ways, and the hotel is fairly close to the airport, which made getting around easy. They had a good breakfast selection and hot chocolate to warm up with. The staff were some of the friendliest I’ve met, all so kind. I had a great stay and want to recognize them for their good work.

Getting to and from the hotel was easy thanks to Aaron, the shuttle driver. He was patient, professional, and incredibly nice. The front desk team were also friendly and helpful all the way from check-in through checkout. I had a very pleasant stay and would gladly come back.
