Residence Inn Fairfax City

We stayed over the holidays and found the room quiet, even though the hotel is near busy Rt. 123 and the trucks. It’s also close to “Old Town” Fairfax. The complimentary breakfast had plenty of choices, from cereal and oatmeal to eggs, breakfast meats, bagels, bread, muffins, juice, tea, and coffee. Our room was well laid out and very clean, as was the bathroom with its walk-in shower. The bed was firm but comfortable, and the kitchenette was clean and stocked with the utensils we needed.

The one-bedroom suite was spacious and clean. Check-in was friendly, and the staff were welcoming every time we came back to the hotel. We had no problems and would definitely stay again.

The rooms and beds were extremely comfortable, and although the hotel welcomes pets, there weren’t any pet odors. We stayed during a snowstorm, and the staff did a fantastic job clearing snow. They were especially helpful digging cars out.

I liked how easy the hotel was to find and the location worked well. It’s clean and updated. The lobby smelled fresh when I arrived because the cleaning person was mopping. The rooms are updated, and the gym is spacious with new equipment and a water dispenser. There’s a roomy bathroom, plus a little vanity outside it with another mirror, useful if two people are getting ready. The water isn’t softened, so it doesn’t leave that slimy feeling. Breakfast is free, with lots of seating and a few more private nooks where you can watch TV. They did run out of coffee cups. Parking is available for $10 a night. I didn’t know there was more parking around the other side, so try going around if you can’t find a spot by the door. The shower pressure was only medium. I had to switch the shower head to its concentrated setting because the widest setting wasn’t rinsing shampoo out of my hair. In the studio room, the bed was perpendicular to the windows, and light came through a gap at the edge of the curtains right onto the middle of the bed. The curtains don’t wrap around to block it, and I woke up a few times. If you’re sensitive to light, bring an eye mask.
