Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Fairfield - North by IHG

They even had the personal item I left waiting for me at the front desk when I called. No hotel staff have ever kept something my husband or I left behind before, which says a lot about the service here. The people at check-in were friendly and eager to help, and the breakfast was tasty with plenty of choices. The breakfast attendants kept the area tidy, and the rooms were very clean. The staff really are conscientious and work hard. Best hotel in Fairfield, in my opinion.

The free breakfast was a nice bonus, and the dining area was clean and pleasant. Our room was clean too, and everything worked the way it should. Hard to beat that.

The room smelled off and was much too hot, while the air conditioner barely worked. I didn't ask anyone about it because of how I was treated at check-in. One employee working on Sept 20, 2025 was very rude, rolling her eyes when people asked questions and talking on her cell phone while I tried to speak to her. She seemed annoyed and didn't want to be bothered. I also saw another guest complain, and she treated him the same way. I stayed one night, and that was already too many. They don't care about guests. Don't stay here if you don't want to be treated like trash.

The pool was the surprise for me. I've stayed at hundreds of IHG hotels, mostly Holiday Inn Express, and this one is easily among my top five. Usually a hotel pool is lukewarm at best, even when they say it's heated. Here the water felt like it was in the 90s, while the air was a crisp 70° with a steady 8mph breeze. I had to get out just to cool down. The breeze gave me a slight chill, then the warm water wrapped around me again. Between that and the clean, relaxing hot tub, I felt ready for a good night's rest after a long drive. The rooms are huge and have everything you need. The beds are soft without being too soft, and I slept really well. Breakfast was hot, fresh tasting, and filling. Check-in was quick and professional, but still felt like being welcomed by a friend. The customer service was neat and joyful, and I wouldn't hesitate to book this place again soon. I'd absolutely recommend staying here.
