Candlewood Suites Fargo-N. Dakota State University by IHG

My experience changed completely when the manager returned from her health-related absence. She contacted me with real empathy and a sense of urgency, then quickly fixed the problem and made me feel heard. Her kindness and ownership meant a lot, especially after what she had just come back from. I'd originally left a negative review because I was charged a no-show fee during the government shutdown. With the shutdown and furlough in effect, nobody on either side could step in, and I felt helpless and penalized for something I couldn't control. It was stressful and disappointing. I'm updating my review to reflect the service this place can provide when the right people are able to do their jobs. Thank you for making things right. It meant more than you know.

We've stayed here three times over the past year, and it's our usual choice when we're in Fargo. The staff keep an eye out for the special needs we've had. It's also close to the VA hospital, Hector Airport, and good restaurants. Thank you!

Right on the north end of the North Dakota State University campus, this is a handy spot for longer stays since every room has a kitchenette. The airport is only about five minutes away.

I was glad I chose this place even though there were cheaper options. As a first-time Candlewood Suites guest, I came away thinking it had reset my standards for hotels. Everyone was welcoming, from the late-night and morning staff to the shuttle driver. My clean studio-style room was comfortable for any length of stay, with kitchenware for longer visits, and I liked the loaner items available in the front lobby. Best hotel I've stayed at in at least a few years.
