Sleep Inn & Suites Fargo

The front desk barely spoke to us at check-in, and the people there didn't even look like they worked at the hotel. The property felt dirty and neglected from the start, and for an economy hotel, I guess that was about what you'd expect. With the price, it was a rip-off. I wouldn't return even if it were free, and I'd tell anyone to stay elsewhere. We arrived after an exhausting eight-hour drive, only to learn that the room we'd booked and confirmed months earlier had been given away because the hotel was “overbooked.” There had been no call, email, or warning. They just shrugged and made excuses. That alone showed how badly run the place seemed. The room we were eventually given smelled stale and musty, and air freshener couldn't hide it. The carpets looked like they hadn't been properly cleaned in years. Things felt sticky or worn, which made me question what had been cleaned. The bed was uncomfortable and questionable, and I couldn't relax because the room felt unsanitary. I didn't even want to take my shoes off, much less sleep. The bathroom had poorly wiped surfaces, lingering odors, and the feel of a rushed wipe-down. Noise made sleep impossible. The walls were paper thin, so we heard doors slamming, people stomping, and hallway commotion at all hours. The name “Sleep Inn” is pretty ironic. Between the filthy conditions, poor accountability, and the way the place is managed, it all felt run-down, like management had checked out. After that long drive and being treated that way, it was the last thing we needed.

We were left without clean, dry towels for a full 24 hours, which is ridiculous for paying guests, especially when people travel from far away for stressful medical trips. The room was sloppy and gross too, with residue in the tub, on the walls, and on the light fixtures. Extremely disappointing. I'll never book with this company again. 10/10 would not recommend.

My family and I have stayed here for years, so finding out it has new owners was disappointing, and the visit under them was a letdown. The breakfast isn't as good as it used to be either. The front desk staff were great, especially Kyla and juanice (I hope I spelled her name right). The manager was rude to me and my husband, making us feel like we were a nuisance or bothering him. He didn't seem to want to be there.

Our room was clean overall and set up for our dog, right by the side exit and pet yard. It's pet friendly, and the breakfast had a good spread with lots of options.
