Extended Stay America Select Suites Detroit Farmington Hills

My family and I have been here for a couple of months while we wait for our home to be ready, and the stay has been pleasant. The rooms are nice, and the staff are very friendly and go out of their way to make sure we have what we need. They're also very kind to my children. Angie at the front desk is a sweetheart and helps us often. Great job, staff!

The hotel was clean, quiet, and well maintained, which made for a relaxing visit. Matt at the front desk made the stay memorable. He was welcoming and professional from check-in, answered all my questions with a smile, helped with directions around town, and made sure I had what I needed to be comfortable. It's rare to meet someone so dedicated to good service. I'll be back and recommend the hotel to others. Thanks again, Matt, for going above and beyond!

We were supposed to have a king suite with a loveseat/sleeper sofa, but the room we were first assigned was visibly filthy. It had items left by previous guests, including a soiled diaper in a cabinet that hadn't been checked, dirty linens, big visible stains, and food pieces on the tables and bedding. When we first went down to complain, we were mostly dismissed. The location manager later told us the room shouldn't even have been sold. The only room available to move us to was much smaller, with just a full-size bed and no living area. We got the price difference refunded, but that didn't make up for being put in that situation. Cookware and utensils also cost extra, each item or set separately, and the Extended Stay websites don't disclose those charges. If I could give half stars, I'd rate this 1.5 instead of 2. I can't recommend this stay in good conscience.
