Americas Best Value Inn/brentwood Inn & Garden

This was our second stay here, and we haven’t been disappointed either time. We spent five days at this location and had wonderful service. The facilities were very clean, and all the staff were helpful and congenial. I highly recommend it.

The rooms were decent, but the front desk service made us feel unwelcome. We’d driven from AZ to NM for a gospel gathering and got to our room around midnight. After sleeping in, we were about 10 minutes past checkout. I called to ask if we could have roughly 20 more minutes, but the staff member said we’d have to pay again. Some hotels allow an extra hour without a charge. Here, it felt like we were being chased out, and we weren’t happy with the stay. We’ll choose another hotel next time.

For a work trip, this was one of the best values I’ve had in years. The exterior isn’t much to look at, but inside the room was excellent and very clean, with a comfortable bed and pillows. The A/C, fridge, microwave, and windows all worked; the windows opened and had locks. The bathroom was above average, with a good shower, immediate hot water, and good cleanliness. The only problem was an annoying leak in the handheld shower head.

Breakfast was decent, standard hotel fare. When I walked into the room, the smell made it obvious someone had just smoked in there, which is a huge turnoff in a non-smoking room. I went back to the desk, and the staff member switched rooms without asking questions. I was very grateful, since I probably would have left otherwise.
