Comfort Inn & Suites Farmington - Victor

I travel often and have stayed with this chain a lot, but I won't be coming back. This is the second time I've had a problem with them putting a hold on my card without consent. I gave them the benefit of the doubt the first time, but this time the hold was placed before the official check-in time. I had the full amount tied up on my card and was also made to pay the full amount, so I effectively had to cover it twice. Hotels don't need to hold the entire room cost like that; charging at check-in should be enough. And if there's an issue, there's nowhere to call directly. You have to deal with the franchise.

The heated indoor pool was exactly what my son and I wanted for a two-day staycation. Our room was just right too, and the only downside was a dirty Jacuzzi that needed cleaning. Thanks, comfort inn ☺️

Arthur at the front desk made our late check-in easy and pleasant, and every staff member seemed to greet us. The kitchen crew also started each morning with a smile and a cheerful hello. Breakfast was good, with eggs, sausage links, and potatoes each day. Some variety would've been nice, but it was always hot and fresh. The room, though, was far below what I expect from a clean place to stay. It had a heavy damp, musty, almost mildew smell, bad enough that we bought air freshener. There were large, poorly patched holes in the bathroom door, a red carpet stain near the phone desk that looked like blood, and what looked like semen stains around the base of one bed. Black mold patches were around the tub, and the dusty clock radio looked like it hadn't been cleaned in ages. It had a dock for an old iPod, maybe from the 90s or early 2000s. I wouldn't stay here again because of the room. I'm sharing this despite expecting a generic thank-you response. I hope Comfort Inn takes seriously that replacing damaged things can be better than patching holes, and that rooms need proper cleaning.

Check-in was friendly, and the breakfast was decent. I liked making my own waffles. The rooms were clean and pleasant, though a little dated. Best of all, the doors don't slam, so it was a much quieter night than at other hotels I've stayed in. I would come back, though I can't comment on the pool or hot tub since we didn't use them.
