Fairfield by Marriott Inn & Suites Knoxville Turkey Creek

The room was spacious and the bed really comfortable. Breakfast was great every morning we were there, and all areas were clean. Staff were friendly and helpful. I think the indoor pool is open until 11 pm. I didn't use it on this visit, but I have before, and it's relaxing after a long drive. I'd recommend this hotel to Knoxville travelers.

It was 9:30 pm after a five-hour drive when we stopped to see if there was a room. The lobby was in awful shape: the automatic glass door looked uncleaned for days, the trash bin was overflowing, and a large brown coffee or cocoa stain covered part of the floor. The free cookies sat in a greasy, fingerprint-smeared plastic container that looked contaminated. Dim lights, cigarette smoke, and an old musty smell greeted us. I would have left, but it was late, we were tired, it was snowing, and the roads were getting unsafe. As a dad traveling with my 12-year-old daughter, staying inside seemed better than heading back out to search for another hotel. No one was at the desk at first. We called out “Hello,” and after a short pause a girl came from a blacked-out office behind the counter, wearing a hoodie and jeans and holding her phone. She asked, “Can I help you?” The room smelled like an old closet. The bathroom was worn, with a sticky, greasy floor and moldy grout. It felt unsanitary, and my kid didn't want to use it, so we didn't shower. The towels were worn out and didn't smell fresh. This hotel is in poor condition, and I won't stay at Marriott hotels in the future.

The hotel itself was fine, and the people working there were friendly. My TV remote didn't work, and the bathroom could've been cleaned better.

My earlier stay here was fine, but this visit was a no. At 10 pm I opened the bed and found sheets that clearly hadn't been changed or cleaned. There was hair, the sheets were settled into the indents instead of pulled taut, and there were even pieces of leaves. I called the desk to ask for clean sheets and changed everything myself. There was also a huge brown stain in the middle of the white curtain. Yuck. I'll stay somewhere else next time I'm in Knoxville.
