Days Inn & Suites by Wyndham Fort Bragg/Cross Creek Mall

Despite the hazardous conditions, I was denied a refund. The front desk staff were polite, but seemed desensitized to the chaos and admitted these problems were common. Noise complaints got no help from management, and other guests were disruptive. In my room, roaches were present, maintenance was neglected, and a loud pipe leaking in the walls made sleep impossible. Outside, I witnessed a physical assault in the parking lot and saw people break into an empty guest room to squat overnight. Car alarms went off repeatedly, and several vehicles seemed to have been stolen by morning. The safety risks here should concern any traveler. I had an incredibly distressing stay. Avoid this hotel at all costs.

So far, this is my best experience of 2026. The rooms were spotless, all the amenities were there, and it was pet friendly. The staff were pleasant, and I'd totally recommend it.

Update: Wyndham corporate reviewed my complaint about the room's cleanliness and credited my account with 15,000 Wyndham Rewards points as a goodwill gesture. I appreciate that they took the time to look into it and resolve the issue. The room's original condition was disappointing, but I'm satisfied with how corporate handled it. I hope the property has fixed the housekeeping problems for future guests. I stayed at the Wyndham location on Skibo Road in Fayetteville, NC, from 02/13/2026 to 02/15/2026. I have photos of the room, which showed hair on walls and surfaces, debris and food on the floor, foreign objects in the bedding, residue and buildup on furniture and fixtures, and a malfunctioning sink. At about 9:15 AM on 02/14/2026, I reported these issues to the employee on duty at the front desk. Lobby security cameras should be able to confirm I was there. After the stay, I asked management for a refund of $179.79 because of the documented conditions. They said no complaint was in the logbook, that I hadn't raised the concerns during the stay, and that because I remained in the room for both nights, they couldn't verify my complaint. That's inaccurate. A complaint not being recorded internally doesn't mean I never made it, and staying in a prepaid room doesn't invalidate sanitation concerns. The property declined the refund, saying they “cannot verify” the complaint. I'm escalating the matter to Wyndham Corporate for an independent review. I hope management checks its camera footage and internal processes before dismissing guest concerns. I'm writing this to support accuracy and accountability, not out of emotion. I'll update the review if the matter is resolved appropriately.

The first night was a little scary. I was traveling alone and am disabled, and my room was at the back, where I had to climb 3 steps. The next morning I needed to add 2 days to my stay, and the gentleman working the morning shift was absolutely amazing. He made me feel welcome and moved me to a room inside the building. I'll be back soon and stay here again. Also, y'all book online, the rate is cheaper, even though I couldn't.
