Red Roof Inn Philadelphia - Trevose

I was exhausted after trying three hotels that night, with most already booked, so I stopped at red roof in. I was told every other room was sold out and given the deluxe room. There was nothing deluxe about it. The beds were lumpy, and the heat still hadn't come on 20 minutes after I set the thermostat to 86. The room stayed at 68. I switched to the less comfortable bed because the light over the other one didn't work, and the overhead light was too much. The front desk person was friendly, but said he didn't know the room because he was never in it. Maybe he should get a free night? Cleaning staff had left the covers down, with breadcrumbs still there for the next guest. That's unacceptable. I put food and a cool drink in the fridge, but the next morning found it wasn't running even though it was plugged in. I was hoping to get some sleep while in town for work, but that didn't happen. Plenty of reviews mention problems and apologies, but what's actually being done? Next time I'll pay more somewhere else for a decent room and a good night's sleep.

This works for someone after an affordable motel stay who isn't high maintenance. Most of the staff are nice, and Will, the night guy, is the absolute best. He's always treated me kindly and never judged me. It can get noisy, so I recommend earplugs. They work for me. My one gripe is personal: the strict limit on how many days you can stay makes things harder for me right now. It would help if they brought back unlimited stays.

I came for four days over Christmas. The first room was terrible, with holes in the wall, a filthy tub, and a bathroom door that wouldn't close. They moved me the next day, and the second room was a little better, but housekeeping never came in to do anything: no trash removal, bed making, nothing. Management told me they wouldn't provide service unless I paid for it. They said I could leave the trash outside and housekeeping would take it, but it sat at my door for two days. I leave tomorrow. They also wouldn't give me extra pillows or towels. Take my advice and pay more for a better place.

Check-in is at 3, but I arrived at 7:30 pm. There were too many people wandering around the site, which is housing approved. The first room hadn't been cleaned at all. Used sheets were still on the bed, and you could see the previous guest's body shape in them. I contacted the front desk. The employee took a while to figure out what to do, then gave me a deluxe room for free. That one was even worse, with the bathtub looking like someone had given birth in it and blood everywhere. I'm done, never again.
