Country Inn & Suites by Radisson, Fergus Falls, MN

There are several restaurants and other places to eat nearby, which made the location handy for my one-night stay. The room itself was less comfortable than I’d hoped. Its door faced the pool area, and people regularly walked past and looked through the window, so privacy was an issue. The temperature controls didn’t seem to work right, and the room lighting was very dim. The hallways also felt dark and uninviting. Staff were polite, but language barriers sometimes made it hard to get answers to my questions.

We arrived at 4:00am with a prepaid room, but they wouldn’t let us in because we hadn’t called to say we’d be late. Corporate says they hold the room until 7am. Choice Hotels offered them the option over the phone to give me the room or offer a discount for early check-in, but they did neither and were kicking us off the property. They spent another hour and 15 minutes bullying me instead of handing over the room I’d already paid for. I stayed until I got a refund, but by 5:15 there was still no room, and the manager had treated me like I was worthless for being late. Life happens. I’d avoid this property. The staff were horrible, and I’ll never book here again. I’d do the same in your shoes. No common decency as a human.

My mother stays here now and then and likes it. It’s pricey, but everything is. There’s a nice pool, a fitness room, and a pretty big breakfast spread. I haven’t slept here myself, but the rooms look up to date. I’m sure some people find it hard to leave a place this nice.

A regular hotel with beds, TVs, and even a pool. The lot is right outside, the doors open easily, and the shower water gets hot. They provide free soap, too. The morning waffles are great. Well done!
