Fairfield Inn Findlay

I usually get nervous about small-town hotels, but this place was really nice. The rooms were clean and well cared for, and the service was excellent. If you need to stay in Finley, Ohio, this is a great choice.

The room seemed clean, but there was a strange smell when we first walked in. We could also hear people talking loudly in the hall and filling coolers with ice. With the room right by the elevator and ice machine, some kind of white noise would have helped, or an AC that ran continuously. I’d requested an upper-floor room away from both, with no feather pillows, when I booked online. We checked in before 4:00 and got a first-floor room across from the elevator, next to the ice machine, with feather pillows. They said all rooms had been assigned the night before and couldn’t be changed.

There was trash across the floor and hair all over the bathroom when I checked in. The room clearly hadn’t been cleaned after the previous guests. I called the front desk to ask for another one, but they said every room was booked and they couldn’t do anything.

We’ve stayed here a few times. On Sunday night, March 1, while we were passing through on our way home, family came to visit. I asked Connie at the front desk if we could sit in the breakfast area and have pizza with them. She went out of her way to help, turned on the lights, and said we could use the TV too, though we didn’t. Thank you, Connie, for making it so easy for us.
