HYATT house Fishkill/Poughkeepsie

The reception staff and the barman were lovely, and breakfast was great. We had a lovely few nights away. The fourth floor had recently been renovated, which was a nice surprise. I only wish the pool area were a little warmer.

We’re loyal Hyatt Globalist members and had been looking forward to staying at Hyatt House Fishkill. Our room smelled noticeably of stale smoke. We asked about moving, but understood the hotel was fully booked. There were a couple of maintenance problems too. The air conditioning was so loud and clanged enough to make sleeping difficult, so we turned it off. The toilet sometimes wouldn’t flush properly, or kept running for a long time afterward. We’re sharing this as constructive feedback because we value our relationship with Hyatt. With some improvements, the property could deliver the kind of experience we associate with the brand. We hope to see progress on our next visit.

The cafe area was so cold it felt like an ice box. It was 7 degrees outside, and eating breakfast there was uncomfortable. But the way staff treated me after I raised the temperature issue was worse. The employees laughed at me and called me names. The wide hip lady behind the desk was hostile and unprofessional, and a young employee named Kyra was just as rude and joined in. I’ve never felt so disrespected at a business. Being mocked and insulted over a real facility problem was disgusting. I’ll never host another event here, and I strongly advise people to stay away until management addresses the poor leadership at the front desk.

The beds in room 312 were a little sunken and not very firm. Apart from that, I had a great stay. Breakfast was included, the room was clean, and the staff were kind. The gym and pool were available too.
