La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Flagstaff

Breakfast was a welcome surprise, and the location and rooms were both very nice. This is a pet friendly hotel, and I’d stay here again. Check-in took longer than expected because rooms weren’t ready. Cleaners were still working at 6:30 pm, so I guess they were short on staff. The staff were nice despite the long line, though three people were behind the counter and they didn’t open another lane.

We got a very good price by booking online through Wyndham rewards. The location worked well for visiting places in and around Flagstaff, and the room was large, clean, and well laid out, with a nice desk and dresser. The bed and pillows were comfortable, there was lots of bathroom counter space, and the bedside lamps had regular and USB outlets. There were plenty of proper hangers, too. Breakfast had lots of choice and was well prepared. The attendant refilled things as soon as they ran out. I was about to ask for bananas when I saw the basket had already been filled. Coffee was good, and I liked that the half-n-half and other options came from a milk machine instead of tiny plastic containers that spill when you open them. Our room was quiet. Maybe we just had quiet neighbors, but I hope the rooms are sound-proofed. Two things could be better: real cups, plates, and flatware would be nicer and more ecological, and it would be good to have real glasses and cups in the room. Some towels were fraying and need replacing.

We had to cancel the week before because our surgery was postponed. Even though we were past the refund deadline, management approved the refund, and I was very grateful. We stayed the following week when I had my surgery. The place was beautiful, very clean, and well kept. The breakfast and pool were so good, too. Thank you, La Quinta in flagstaff. We’ll be back.

The room and bathroom were clean, and there were a few spots outside for dogs to use. But the pillows were flat and incredibly lumpy, so I slept horribly. Breakfast was a little sad, though at least it’s complimentary. The hotel is pet friendly.
