At $300 a night, this place felt like a rip-off. We hadn't researched it properly before booking, and the rusty heating vents, dusty AC, gas-like smell, and spot right beside two busy streets made the room a disappointment. Taking American Express doesn't mean a hotel is nice. When we raised the room's condition, we were told it was too late to cancel. The proprietor wouldn't give me her name, and her husband flipped me off when I tried to take her picture. We drove the two hours back to Prescott, and the hotel wouldn't give any credit. The proprietor then made what I believe were false reports to Flagstaff Police and American Express, claiming I'd used profanities and said I was staying at a “cheaper hotel that night.” Unless you're really desperate, I wouldn't pay more than $49 here. You could drive two hours to Phoenix and stay at the Marriott or Ritz for less.

The coffee in the room wasn't to my taste, and the lobby coffee and continental breakfast weren't much better for me. I hadn't come for those, though. The room itself was clean, the bed was comfortable, the pillows were unusually nice for a budget motel, and both the heat and AC worked well. I was pleased with the price and would stay again, just going out for coffee.

I'm writing this from the room, and it's gross. Paying $100 for this dump was awful. Run away!
