Lefay Cottage At Little Washington

Even in winter, we sat outside with wine, enjoying the views and the lovely lavender scent in the air. There’s a lot to explore nearby, including the Inn at Little Washington, wineries, galleries, other fine dining, and outdoor activities. Sally-Anne has also made the five acres a lovely setting for indoor or outdoor weddings, with the distinctive Love Lavendar field. The cottage seems perfect for couples, a girls weekend, or a bachelorette party. My husband and I found LeFay Cottage online while looking for a quick break from the noise around DC. It looked enchanting and romantic, unlike the places we usually stay in Shenandoah, so we decided to visit. Driving through the iron gates, with the old Christmas trees lined up against the Blue Ridge Mountains, made an immediate impression. Inside, everything was spotless, with beautiful furnishings, decor, and amenities, including the lavendar products. It felt like a scene from Southern Living magazine. The cottage was comfortable, lovely, and beautifully decorated. Sally Anne, the owner, also gave us great tips on local places to visit. I stayed for a July weekend when we had dinner at the Inn at Little Washington, just a couple of miles away, so the location worked perfectly. Late afternoons were lovely for sitting outside with wine and taking in the breathtaking Blue Ridge Mountains. We also celebrated my husband’s birthday with dinner at the Inn at Little Washington.

Sally Anne left fairy wings for our girls, and there was plenty of open space for them to run and play. She also sent a detailed list of housekeeping information in advance and provided some basic kitchen essentials. The bath soaps, towels, and bedsheets were simple essentials but felt luxurious. The artwork and decor were elegant, too. We loved the fresh air, landscape, and scenery after the drive from the DC Metro area. LeFay Cottage at Little Washington was absolutely charming. I enjoyed the family trip and would love to plan a getaway with my husband next time.
