We drive trucks and are on the road a lot, so hotels are a regular thing for us. We usually get a two-bed room to spread out and relax. The first night we shared a bed. On the second, I pulled back the covers on the other bed and found a brown substance on the sheets and the underside of the blanket. It was late, and we didn’t call the desk, which was our fault. I put the bedding on the floor for housekeeping, trying to be nice. When we checked our card statement, the hotel had kept the security deposit. The front desk said the charge was for damage to the sheets and blanket, which we hadn’t caused. We were told they don’t usually wash blankets, just change the sheets. We should have called during the night, but I’ve never been charged a security deposit at a hotel before. We’ve stayed in everything from no-tell motels to very nice places, and I definitely won’t recommend this one.

We return to Best Western in Lumberton several times a year, and it feels like home because we know the people there. Everyone is accommodating, especially the lovely front desk manager and her staff. Pat serves a very good hot breakfast with plenty to choose from. The maids do a great job keeping the inn and rooms clean. The rooms are spacious and have a sofa, coffee table, desk, fridge, microwave, coffee maker, and plenty of luggage space. The bathroom was clean too. It’s easy to reach just off 1-95, and you can park right outside your door. There’s also a swimming pool.

The staff are friendly and helpful, with plenty of coffee and a good, plentiful breakfast. It’s good value. The rooms were comfortable, and the TV was a nice flat screen. Restaurants, gas stations, and the interstate ramps are all nearby.

I needed somewhere to sleep on my drive from NYC to FL, and this worked out really well. Check-in was quick, the staff were friendly, and my room was clean and comfortable with everything I needed. It also felt safe and quiet, so I could relax before getting back on the road. The price was convenient for a short stay. I saw some of the reviews, but they wouldn’t put me off. I’d recommend this place for a good night’s rest and would come back.

Parking is plentiful, and the location is handy, just off the interstate with restaurants nearby. The renovated room was spacious, and the bathroom was clean and functional. The beds were the most comfortable I’ve had in hotels of this tier, and the soundproofing was great. The breakfast area can get small and chaotic at times.
