Breakfast was good and included, and the place was clean and quiet with a great location. They were improving the fitness center, which it needed, so that seemed promising. I wasn’t keen on having to go outside to get from my room to the front desk and breakfast, since the buildings aren’t connected. It’s not a huge deal, just not my preference. This isn’t the Ritz, but it’s reasonably priced and good value. If you’re coming to Florence, OR, this Best Western is a decent option.

Adam at the front desk was such a cool guy. He told us about the pool and spa before we arrived, greeted us warmly, suggested things to do nearby, and shared facts about rocks and fossils. We loved him. Breakfast had a gorgeous view and a chef making omelets to order, which was a nice surprise. The building is older but very well kept, and our spacious, comfortable room had a balcony overlooking the bay. A lovely stay. 💖

We had a fantastic stay. The place was clean, quiet, and cozy, and the staff were friendly and attentive. Breakfast added a lot of value, and my family loved the pool. Special thanks to Adam for the cookies!

We’ve been staying at this hotel for over 20 years, though we went less often for a while because it felt run down, outdated, and not very clean for the price. We gave it another try about six or seven years ago, and we’re glad we did. When we arrived after several years away, the new manager and his wife had just moved in. We met them in the lobby at check-in and found them down-to-earth, pleasant people. Within a year, the place was already improving, and we’ve seen it get better with each visit: cleaner rooms, better breakfasts, stronger Wi-Fi, and additions to the fitness room. The new manager has raised the hotel to another level. Rooms, hallways, lobby, and breakfast area are always very clean. Even the baseboards in common areas are dust-free, which impresses me because plenty of hotels overlook that. The staff are helpful and friendly, and we appreciate their hospitality. The breakfast room has fabulous views, and breakfast runs until 10, unlike many hotels that stop at 9. There are made-to-order omelets, and some days they offer French toast. There are lots of hot and cold options, enough to leave you full before a day exploring the beach and shops. Rooms are roomy, with comfy beds and lots of balconies. Pets are allowed, and they’re strict about keeping guests with pets in designated pet rooms. That way, if you don’t bring a pet, you shouldn’t get lingering pet smells. We’ve stayed in both kinds of rooms, once with our 25lb dog and other times without him, and both were great. We couldn’t tell the difference. The pet-friendly room had no pet smell or other residue, thankfully. The fitness room has all the equipment you might need and is easy to access. There’s a decent-sized heated indoor pool downstairs, with great river views, a shower area, sauna, and hot tub. Just off the lobby, there are games you can borrow for your room. We’ve borrowed a few games and a couple of books. There’s plenty to watch on demand, and the TVs are a good size, not tiny 19-inch sets. Internet gets five stars too. It was fast and we had no issues. I don’t need a business room on trips to Florence, so I didn’t look for one. I did see a separate area where people could sit privately, which might be where it is if the hotel has one. This is a long review, but I hope it helps if you’re thinking of staying here. If you visited more than eight years ago and found it dirty, below par, or not worth the price, I’d suggest trying it again. It’s come a long way with upgraded and redecorated rooms, impressive cleanliness, and a breakfast that feels worth at least $20 per person. That’s a nice savings too. If you have little ones, the pool and breakfast make this a good choice. And don’t forget to ask for a hot cookie!

The made-to-order omelets were good, but most of the other breakfast options were gone or available only in tiny amounts. There wasn’t enough to make toast or get a proper serving of the biscuits and gravy special for the number of guests. It felt like a tease to advertise breakfast and then not have enough food. The beautiful view shown in the booking photos wasn’t there either. I walked the whole property with our dog and found it overgrown, with the outdoor space locked up and no view at all. Our pet-friendly room was supposedly just cleaned, but it wasn’t clean. It was at the end of the building and sloped dramatically on one side, possibly due to a sinking foundation. That made sleeping uncomfortable. One bed was badly sunken in the middle, and the slope made the room disorienting. The bathroom toilet was ridiculously short. I’m 5'9 and still had to squat to use it, which was another uncomfortable thing. The price was much higher than other local hotels, making all of this more disappointing. We upgraded expecting more, but got less. I’ll never stay here again or recommend it.
