Western Motel

The rooms are spacious, and some upgrades are being done. The motel is quiet, and I definitely feel safe there. The people are very nice and the staff friendly. Western Motel is on the edge of Folkston, but several stores are within walking distance if you want to get some exercise or don't have transportation. I highly recommend it.

The front desk person seemed really nice, but I would've given the room zero if I could. We stopped because this place looked like the better of the two, and we were too tired to move on. The room smelled like dirty AC or mold. There were dead roaches in the door's safety latch and behind the toilet paper. The pillows were stained, and you'd think new pillows wouldn't cost that much. We got one pillow each and, lol, one towel each. Everything was dusty, and the space behind the nightstands and elsewhere was DIRTY.

I was displaced from my home in Fargo by Hurricane Helene, and I didn't stay at this motel. The owners weren't there, and the young man I spoke with was as nice as he could be, but had no instructions on how to check people in. That wasn't his fault. With the other motels closed, this was the only one available, but the price for its location was ridiculous. It would've cost $97 a night for a week, and after the hurricane we didn't have much to spend. Online, the price was much cheaper, but it said there were no rooms for the next two weeks. When I arrived, there were only two cars in the big motel's parking lot, and the young man told me plenty of rooms were available.
