La Quinta Inn by Wyndham Sacramento North

We came for a volleyball tournament, and they kindly moved the weekend breakfast from its usual 7 AM start to 6 AM for the players and coaches staying there. The room had a nicely sized mini fridge with a freezer, too. For the price, it's an excellent hotel. It's next to an In-N-Out, close to lots of other restaurants, and about a 15-minute drive from downtown Sacramento. I'd ask for a room on an upper floor.

My room's TV never worked during the three days I was there, which was disappointing. Luckily, the hotel has complimentary Wi-Fi, so I used my own streaming devices instead. Staff and management were friendly and attentive, and the room and the rest of the property were in excellent shape. I'm a documented Wyndham Rewards member, but for some unexplained reason they couldn't honor my late checkout perk. I ended up not needing it anyway.

We had a good stay and would stay again. The location was handy, near the highway, my gym, grocery stores, and fast food like Inn and Out, Jack N the Box, and Chick fa La. The affordable laundry and pet-friendly policy were nice extras. The main annoyance was that the shower didn't drain well, so I had to stand in a puddle in the tub. The sink drained slowly too, though I managed to fix that.

Most of the staff were friendly and helpful, especially Andy, and the accommodations themselves were decent. But one employee's rude, dismissive, unprofessional attitude kept adding stress while my family and I were already dealing with a difficult medical situation. Every interaction left me feeling like we were a bother just for being there. That person's behavior spoiled the whole stay. Management needs to deal with it, because it reflects badly on the hotel. After this experience, I wouldn't recommend the place to my worst enemy. 😬
