Wyndham Sacramento

There was hair in the bed when I pulled back the sheets, and my room didn't have a microwave. When I called for one, the front desk said they couldn't bring one, and Michael was rude and unresponsive to my concerns. I also raised the dirty linens and missing basic amenities with manager Amanda Ortiz. She offered neither an apology nor a solution, just said, "everything is okay." That response made it clear guest comfort and cleanliness aren't priorities here. The dismissive management attitude fits the unhelpful service I got throughout this deeply disappointing stay. It was a waste of money. Run away as fast as you can!

We stopped in Sacramento overnight while delivering loads, and the spacious lot made parking easy even with big rigs. The lobby and lounge were impressive, with a waterfall, terrace, on-site restaurant, lovely decor, pool, and jacuzzi. The rooms were small but clean, though the building feels old: low hallway ceilings, worn carpet, stained curtains, and some dated fixtures. The lighting, sink, and towel bars looked newer. Beds were firm, especially at the edges, but the pillows, sheets, and blankets were comfortable and warm. There was no refrigerator, the microwave was small and on the desk, and there was no laundry room. We noticed a few cars that seemed to be occupied overnight, so we locked up and brought our belongings in. The price was fair, and I'd stay again mainly for the parking, despite the worn room and inconveniences.

Check-in was quick and friendly, and the staff were very helpful and courteous. We paid a great price for a very nice place to stay. Other Wyndham branded hotels I've tried haven't lived up to what I expected from the Wyndham name, but this one went beyond what I've seen in my travels. Good job, Wyndham Sacramento!

The rooms were nice and clean, and I have no complaints about them. My first impression was good too: the receptionist who answered when I called about availability was polite, helpful, and very nice. But when I arrived, Mehari couldn't find my booking and even said I was at the wrong hotel. A colleague overheard and helped locate the reservation. Once Mehari realized he'd been mistaken, he didn't apologize. Instead, he made fun of my name, saying he was trying to pronounce it. He was awful and impolite, with no sense of how to welcome or help a customer. That left such a bad memory of an otherwise nice hotel. The company needs better front desk staff. He seemed burnt out and should retire. Customers don't need someone greeting them that way, and the company shouldn't have him representing it. He was lame, sorry, that's what happened last night.
