Hampton Inn by Hilton Irvine East - Lake Forest

Breakfast was the one letdown. There were lots of choices, but the hot food wasn't hot enough. The hotel and gym were very clean, and it was quiet too. The staff were friendly and incredibly accommodating, more so than I've experienced in a long time. Very refreshing!

We had to switch rooms, and the second one was a little better. Some staff were great, while others weren't friendly or much help. We were also charged twice for the room, though they fixed that. The hotel looks nice in its pictures, but in person it felt old and run down. Our first room was dirty, with old urine around the toilet base and hair throughout. The sheets were stained, though clean aside from the hair. Several things were broken, there was only one light for the whole room, and the mattresses were old and stained. We had no choice but to stay because of our situation. I'd look elsewhere if you can.

I checked out within an hour. There was mold in the bathroom, no fan, and nowhere to open a window. The whole place smelled of cleaning products and PVOCs, enough to make me nauseous. The room hadn't been cleaned well either: greasy, sticky fingerprints on the desk and hair in the bed. I'm done with Hampton's below-par dumps. This place needs a full remodel before it causes health issues and gets sued.
