The biggest concern was the smoke detector for Room 105: it was lying in the desk drawer instead of being installed on the wall. The TV wasn’t working because the cable was out, and the walls were so thin we heard noisy neighbors and the trash truck changing the roll-off dumpster behind the building at 6:30 a.m. My husband and I stayed one night in September 2025. The motel is old, the office closes at 7 p.m., and there’s no ice machine. Our small room smelled so strongly of cleaning solution that we had to leave the door open for a while. It was one of the “cheapest” rooms in Forks, WA, but at $230 a night there were no amenities beyond a place to sleep and shower. I don’t recommend staying here.

We decided at the last minute to get a room, and our day trip turned into a two-night stay. The room was small, but we didn’t need much and were very happy with it. The office staff were nice.

We paid $236 and didn’t even get TV service. The bathtub had mold, the windows were filthy and looked like they hadn’t been cleaned since 1956, and the stairway up to the room was dirty with spiderwebs. There wasn’t a box of tissues, or even a mirror outside the bathroom, which I’ve never encountered elsewhere. I’ve traveled for over 40 years and haven’t stayed anywhere with worse value. A festival meant we didn’t have many other lodging options, but if you’re in the same situation, you’d be better off sleeping in your car than staying in this dump.

The room was so uncomfortable that, despite having visited 20 countries, I felt compelled to leave my first negative hotel review. It cost $230 per night and was the second most expensive room on my entire road trip, even though every other hotel was cheaper, bigger, cleaner, and better equipped. The place felt very basic, with a small room, dirty floor, and hardly any power outlets. The microwave was broken, the AC made a lot of noise without cooling, and the bathroom light didn’t work. We spent a lot of time waiting for repairs, disrupting our schedule and making proper meals difficult. I really feel I need to warn others to avoid it.
