Holiday Inn Express Forsyth by IHG

Erica at the front desk really made this stay memorable. She was warm and professional, and went out of her way from check-in through check-out to make sure things were right. I don't often meet someone who seems to care so much about guests having a good visit. The room itself was clean and comfortable, just what I needed for a relaxing stay. I had a really great experience and will absolutely come back. Highly recommend!

Getting to Holiday Inn Express Forsyth by IHG from the highway was easy, and the complimentary breakfast was very good, with a solid range of choices and a well-kept dining area. The renovation work during my stay was frustrating, though. There wasn't clear communication about how extensive it would be, and at one point the water was turned off. Guests should be told ahead of time about disruptions like that. My room layout was another problem. I booked a king room, but the space felt extremely tight, with barely enough room to open a suitcase because the bed took up so much of it. The renovation disruptions, water outage, and cramped layout made the stay disappointing. I'd consider coming back once renovations are finished and room layouts improve.

We're snowbirds and use this place for our first or last night, depending on which way we're going. Major renovations were happening this time, so the lobby and breakfast area were torn up. The temporary check-in setup was fine, and the temporary breakfast space was adequate. The breakfast was the best we've ever had at any hotel that includes it free with the room.

We were glad our room had been updated. The dark carpet that seemed to hide what you couldn't see is gone, replaced with LVP, and the new furnishings are nice. The bathroom has also been nicely redone, and the room seemed clean enough. But the floor near the tables looked greasy, and a vacuum wouldn't remove grease; I don't think the cleaning staff have steam mops. The old HVAC unit is still noisy and can't be adjusted. The lobby is very dark and uninviting during the renovation. The check-in person was nice, and the elevator is working, though it needs updating. We heard another couple say this was their fourth try at finding a decent hotel for the night. All in all, we're grateful.
