Quality Inn Fort Dodge

The restaurant service downstairs was really nice. That was about the only good part, though. The fitness room is there, but everything in it is broken, and the pool was warmer than the hot tub. You have to yank the front door to get it open, and my room door was hard to open and close. The bathroom handle was coming off, and the door wouldn’t shut. I came to Iowa and stayed here, but it wasn’t worth it. A waste of time and money 🤦‍♀️

Nothing fancy, but our room was clean and comfortable, and the breakfast was hot, delicious, and had plenty of choices. Every morning the freshly cleaned, dry floors were so clean our shoes squeaked on them. It’s a small thing, but it made me smile each time. The morning desk woman was amazing, too. Sorry, I can’t remember her name. She’d just returned to full-time work. We’ll definitely be back. Thanks, guys.

It feels like new management has made a lot of upgrades outside. There are picnic tables, a grill, plenty of shaded spots to relax, and a pool and hot tub to use. For such an old building, it’s very clean. It brought back memories of the cool hotels I stayed in 30 years ago while traveling for construction.

I’ve been here three nights and might stay another. The outside may look a little questionable, but step inside and give it a chance. It’s super clean, smells good, and has great vibes, especially around the restaurant. I slept great while waiting out wet weather that kept us from hauling wind turbine blades.
