There’s no more Restaurant Casablanca here. It has moved to the Starlite Hotel on 169 and Highway 7 in Fort Dodge, Iowa. This place is also known for bed bugs, cockroaches, and room doors that don’t lock. The owners and staff were rude and aggressive, and the place smelled run down and unclean. It felt unsafe. You’d be better off spending a few more dollars to stay somewhere else.

I was in the hospital recovering from a hysterectomy when my sister took my kids to the pool. A guest named David, an older man, picked up my six-year-old daughter and threw her into the water while my sister was underwater. My daughter can’t swim. The hotel let him stay and did nothing to help. I’ve never experienced anything like this. Shannon at the front desk told me to file a police report while I was still in my hospital bed. Imagine hearing your six-year-old say she almost drowned, then learning the hotel did nothing about it. She should be ashamed. I’m sure she’d have put him out if it had happened to her own child. The owner replied to my review instead of returning my calls, even though I’d been trying to reach them for days. The police would have told them it was up to the hotel to remove the guest. I work for Choice and know the protocols. This hotel is unsafe, and the staff clearly don’t care about guest safety. They could have tried to help right away, but nothing was offered. I work for CHOICE, and I’ve already reported this specific hotel. The owner brought up privacy, but their guest threw my six-year-old daughter, who can’t swim, into the pool. Your guest did that.

I was skeptical at first, but this turned out to be a wonderful motel. The rooms were spacious and very clean, with really comfortable beds and a great shower. Adelle was welcoming and helpful, and even brought me an iron and ironing board. All the staff helped make it a quiet, comfortable stay. The restaurant, pool, hot tub, and sauna were great, too. The price was very affordable for what you get. I’ll definitely stay again and would recommend it to anyone. Thanks to the staff for all you do. God bless.

The front desk staff were friendly and helpful, and supportive of our kids while they were in town for the state XC meet. We also got a good price. Our clean room had a fridge and sink, which were handy, and I liked having a door to the outside. Maybe they’ll add some patio furniture in the future. We ate at the steakhouse and enjoyed the food. Service was slow, but they were busy and did a good job.
