Best Western Fort Lauderdale Airport/Cruise Port

We stayed on Jan 27-2026, and the room was dirty and infested with bugs. The front desk staff were wonderful, friendly, and accommodating. When we told them about the room, they understood and said we should contact customer service after getting home to have the room reimbursed. Customer service gave us a hard time and seemed not to care, which shocked us. I've stayed at Best Western properties all my life and have always been treated well before. This time was different. Management doesn't seem to care. It was awful, awful, awful, and actually shocking. Do not stay at this property.

The hotel is in a convenient spot for the cruiseport, but beyond a Macdonalds out front, there's nothing else nearby. The room was passable for a night, though the AC was very loud and it didn't smell fresh. The front desk staff were rude when we asked about water, and an older man there acted as if we were an inconvenience and didn't enjoy his job. We arranged our own shuttle in advance, which turned out to be a good idea. The hotel shuttle had people waiting outside the next day. The company the hotel uses is All Star Tours, and you can book and pay ahead for a specific time to avoid waiting. Breakfast was self serve, but the food that was available was cold and nobody seemed to be refilling it. Kids were touching food, putting it back, and dropping tongs on the floor before returning them to the food. Someone should have been monitoring it. The only person around was the desk clerk dealing with shuttle issues, and I can't blame her. I've been trying to get a response from management since our December 2025 stay. The manager never answered my calls or emails. I was recently told he was gone, and there was someone new, but I've tried to reach him too. I'm still waiting for a call back. I wanted to speak with the manager, but it doesn't look like that's going to happen. I'll be back in Fort Lauderdale in March, but this hotel isn't on my list.

The bed and pillows were very comfortable, and the room and property were tidy despite some renovation work. Front desk staff were polite and helpful, and housekeeping did a good job. Since I stayed two nights, they came in on the second day to replace towels and empty the bins, but you have to be present for that. Before the trip, I called from home to ask about the shuttle and was put on a long hold by a not very polite customer service person, which made me apprehensive. At the airport, though, the woman who answered was polite and explained how to get picked up. From baggage claim, go out the doors at terminal one, turn left, and follow signs to station E, where lots of shuttles wait. Best Western uses the white Candlewood Suites shuttle. I waited up to 30 minutes. It was packed, but Best Western was its first stop. The airport shuttle is free. For a ride to the cruise port, Best Western directs guests to All Stars Tours and Transportation, which costs $15 plus tax. Breakfast is complimentary from 7 to 9 am. It's average but enough to start the day: coffee, milk, almond milk, yogurt, egg and cheese, omelette, sausages, hashbrowns, a waffle maker, pastries, oatmeal, and juice. There's a pool, and the mini fridge is quite large by hotel standards. My room had no safe or swivel chair, and I would have liked the chair. Shops and restaurants are close by. Next door are McDonald’s, then a gas station, and then the Valley Large mall with Dollar Tree, Subway, Wendy’s, Dunkin’ Donuts, a Chinese restaurant, a Mexican restaurant, and more. They're all within five minutes of the hotel. Best Western rewards members can request extended checkout without the $15 fee. Otherwise, it costs $15, and membership is free to sign up.

We took a taxi for $20 instead of waiting for Theo free shuttle, and the hotel is close to the airport. This was our second stay, and it was a big improvement over the last one. It has been tastefully remodeled and was very clean. We found a couple of nearby places to eat, Slackers and Li’l Red’s Bbq. Both had excellent food and service. We'll definitely stay here again for our next cruise.
