Hotel Motel Lauderdale Inn

The staff member at reception said no when I asked for a late checkout, saying guests were checking in. I'd been messaged online that I could request one for $20. Since I couldn't get into my Airbnb until 4 PM, I waited in the lounge to pass the time and could see my room. Nobody went in or came to clean it while I was there, so I don't understand why she said no. She lied for no reason, and the staff were super rude.

Spend a little extra for somewhere better. There was hardly ever any staff around, the pool was dirty, and the stairs were poorly lit. The AC only worked on high, and it was noisy. This place seems ready to be torn down.

The bed was clean and comfortable, which was the one good thing. The room code didn't work. A handyman tried it and it did work, so we ended up using another code to get in. The bathroom was dirty, with what looked like blood underneath the toilet seat. I told housekeeping, and she called it a stain, but I wiped it off. Eeewww. The front desk also seemed unprofessional, answering the phone without knowing who you'd called. Just one more day until my reservation at a real hotel starts. Clean your rooms!!!

For the entire seven-day stay, we only saw someone at the front desk once. When we needed more toilet paper and trash bags, getting them was nearly impossible, and nothing was restocked. Check-in was a mess too. We arrived at 1 PM for a 3 PM check-in, but no one was at the desk. We called about five times without an answer, left, came back at 3, and still found nobody. After waiting a couple more hours, someone finally showed up. They never answered the phone or left a voicemail in all that time. The room was nothing like the online photos. We expected a living room and separate bedroom, but got a tiny room with two squeaky, springy beds and a very small, kind of gross bathroom. Four of us were cramped; it would have been fine with the living room shown in the pictures. The cleaning lady was so sweet, though. Love her. For the price, this was way too much, basically a fancy Motel 6. I wouldn't stay again.
