The Grand Resort and Spa

The place made it easy for us to settle in and be ourselves. We’re a queer couple, and everything felt inclusive and comfortable, with no awkwardness. It was my first stay somewhere clothing-optional, and the respectful, body-positive atmosphere made it much less intimidating than I expected. I found it freeing and empowering. The staff were kind, down to earth, and professional without being stiff. They seemed to care about guests having a good time. My husband also loved his massage. He said it was one of the best he’s had, and the therapist clearly knew what they were doing. We’re on our last full day and have had an amazing time. Five stars, and we’ll be back.

My husband and I had a terrible stay. The room was awful, with stained sheets, extension cords by the sink, and no phone or clock. The shower and toilet were horrible, and the door locks were broken, so we couldn’t secure the room. The front desk staff were very rude. Nobody told us about the parking pass, or about the extra $25 service charge until an employee mentioned it, even though we’d paid online. The ice machines were also broken on several floors.

We could keep enjoying the resort facilities for the whole day after checkout, and there were bathrooms and showers outside the rooms for that. They even let us stay in our room 45 minutes past the 11:00 checkout time. The resort has several pools and hot tubs around the property, plus a clean, modern gym and a good complimentary breakfast. Parking was right up front and easy. Our room was spacious and well equipped. We’d definitely stay again when we visit Fort Lauderdale.

I was there for a week and kept finding new corners of the Grand to explore. It’s got lots of twists and turns, so it felt a bit like choosing your own adventure. My upgraded room felt refined, especially the waterfall shower. I also liked that there were areas for clothing-optional guests and areas where everyone was fully clothed. Had a good time.
