Travelodge Fort Lauderdale Beach

For this price, I haven’t found anywhere else with free breakfast, a microwave, and a refrigerator. The room was clean, though the furnishings were dated and plain. The breakfast wasn’t the best, but it saved me about $8 a day. This was a much better deal than nearby hotels charging $140 a night. I tried another place in Florida for the same price, but it was filthy, had no pool, and terrible customer service. That’s when I realized how good this place was. It’s close to the beach, about a 10-minute trip, and there’s a supermarket five minutes away on foot. Lunch is $6, with stores and other things nearby.

The food options nearby kept everyone happy. Farmers Pick Buffet had all kinds of cuisine and was unbelievably satisfying. It was around $30 per person, about what you’d pay at Red Lobster, and the prime rib melted in your mouth. There were also plenty of excellent places to eat within 15-20 minutes of the hotel. The hotel itself was beautiful and a lovely place to relax. The staff were great and attentive to what we needed and wanted. Our rooms were spacious, the beds extremely comfortable, and the cleaning staff took care of the rooms every day. The pool was clean too. The beach was a 5-7 minute walk, McDonald’s was across the street, and a grocery store was within five minutes.

It was a comfortable place with friendly staff, lovely landscaping, and a very nice pool. The room was clean but quite dated. The air conditioner was so loud I couldn’t sleep. When I told maintenance, they said all the rooms were like that and only a couple were quieter.

At checkout they told us that was the policy, which I think needs to be reconsidered. We were disappointed that the hotel wasn’t across from the beach. There’s no public access for about a mile, so we had to go through a resort to get onto the beach, which felt awkward. There is a nice souvenir shop across the way, plus a grocery store and CVS pharmacy within walking distance. The pizza place across the street was really good, and the dive bar about a 10-minute walk away had great drinks and a nice atmosphere.
