Econo Lodge Hotel

We paid $508 a week for a rundown motel, and I wouldn't say it was worth the money. The room lighting was poor, and the TV barely worked. The place felt sketchy, with people I took to be homeless and using drugs around, a pipe in the parking lot, and people peering into cars late at night. I reported the pipe to the woman at the desk. She thanked me, but it stayed there for two days until my wife picked it up with gloves and paper towels so a child wouldn't find it. Service was awful. My wife had told them we didn't want anyone entering our room because we had colds and didn't feel safe there. Around 8:30 in the morning, she asked the dark-haired housekeeper for two garbage bags and toilet paper. The cart was right beside her, but the housekeeper looked at her watch and said she'd have to wait. My wife took a toilet paper roll herself, and nobody brought the bags. The housekeeper seemed to come by mainly to direct other staff and be rude to guests before leaving. If you're comparing options, the Extended Stay in Firestone / Longmont was around $450 a week, had kitchenettes, and friendlier staff.

The biggest safety concern for me was the room door: its lock was broken and wouldn't secure properly. I also saw other doors with damaged or missing lock parts. The bathroom had problems too. My fan didn't work, some of the shower lights were out, and the sink faucet stayed cold unless I kept twisting and adjusting it to get hot water. The heater/window AC was painfully loud, starting up and shutting off about every ten minutes. In cold weather you need it running, but it made sleeping really difficult. This Motel 6 at 65 South Grand Avenue could use basic repairs for the noise, plumbing, lighting, and door locks.

Clean, accessible room with a nice bathroom. A very nice motel and a great value for the price.

Check-in was easy, and you can pay with cash or card. It's about 10 miles off the highway. The rooms are nicer than most Motel 6 rooms, with a big tub and a good shower head.
