Myerside Resort

The location at Myerside is hard to beat. The beach is about a three-minute walk away, the free beach trolley stops right there, and even Times Square is only a mile away. We could walk to everything without hearing the bars. We also used the township pool next door one morning, free with the stay. Its water slide was down, which was a bummer, but the pool was large, clean, and well staffed. We stayed in the recently updated Starfish Cottage. You could tell it was an older building, but it was clean and comfy, with central air. The master bed was very comfortable; the twin beds in the second bedroom were comfortable enough for my boys, though super squeaky. The kitchen had everything we needed for breakfast. The property feels like stepping back to the 1960s, with small beach houses, a fire pit, a small pool, hammocks, and lots of chairs for evening socializing. I'd definitely stay at Myerside again in the same cottage when we return to Fort Myers. For the money, I don't think you'll find a better spot.

The apartments felt like home, and the location was excellent. The managers were friendly, helpful, and accommodating. We were there from 4/10/17 to 4/15/17, five days with a group of five, and a hotel room never would have been enough. We absolutely loved it. I was sad to leave, but we'll definitely return. Myerside Resort is highly recommended!

After a long drive from Detroit, we needed somewhere to stay on New Year's Day before checking into our hotel the next day. We'd called almost every pet-friendly hotel and resort, but everything was booked for the holiday. Myerside Resort and Cottages happened to have a room for that night, and the man on the phone was really nice and checked us in over the phone. We were exhausted and confused trying to find our room in the dark, so I called. The woman who answered kindly explained where to go, then called back to make sure we found it and sent a worker right away to help. The room was super cute, comfy, very clean, and nicely decorated. It was also much cheaper than the other pet-friendly places. We'd absolutely come back!

The beach access was awesome, and we appreciated the free pass to the recreation center pool, which we used for two days. We enjoyed our five-day stay, and the inside was great, but getting to anything on that strip was brutal. Ubers didn't like driving there and would refuse the pickup, while walking was too far. The ants were a pain, so we sprayed Home Defense ourselves. Outside, the screen porch wasn't fully screened, and the railing was so loose we were afraid to use it. There were floating bugs in the pool, and the temperature made it almost unbearable. The public beaches aren't maintained, so keep that in mind. Still, it wasn't a bad place to stay.
