We’d recommend staying here. The room was clean, and it was pleasantly quiet once the bathroom fan was off, though that was the loudest vent fan I’ve ever heard 🫨. The front desk ladies were kind and accommodating, and we were grateful to have a tub. You have to ask for a coffee pot, and there’s no continental breakfast, which is why I’m giving four stars. We were on a tight schedule the next morning, so we didn’t get to try the Penny Diner.

I’m 72 and was traveling alone, and Cynthia at the front desk was really friendly and helpful. The woman at Penny’s Cafe helped me too. Since I use a cane, she saved me several steps. My room was clean, and I have no complaints.

Breakfast at penny's diner was just average, and the bed was so hard it felt like an ironing board. I went to the front desk to ask about switching rooms, but the girl didn’t know how and said it would cost more, even though I’d still get the same type of room. I just wanted a bed I could sleep in. Whenever I went to the reservation desk for something, the staff were in the back and didn’t seem to notice me. I had to get my coffee pot from the front desk, which I’ve never had to do before. If my family weren’t down there, I’d stay somewhere else, but there aren’t other options. Wyndham reward member.

Lots to see in Fort Scott, and Pennys Diner is attached if you want a good place to eat. The stay was comfortable and a good value, with friendly help. Great place to stay if you’re on a budget.

The food from the diner inside took an hour to arrive, and everything was cold and dry except my husband’s meal. The rooms were very clean, but the whole building had a musty smell.
