Beal House Fort Walton Beachfront, Tapestry Collection by Hilton

I'm on my third day at the Beal House in Fort Walton Beach, and the hospitality has been wonderful. Every staff member has greeted me, and even the person mopping the lobby stopped to press the elevator button when they saw me coming. My room is beautiful, clean, and well stocked. The only problem was a hair dryer that didn't work properly. I mentioned it at the front desk after breakfast, and maintenance was at my door within five minutes with an even better one. I'm glad I read the reviews and didn't pick a cheaper, higher-rated place, since its reviews didn't match the rating. I'd definitely recommend this hotel, especially if you're looking for somewhere quieter and more relaxing.

Watching the ocean from our great balcony was so relaxing, and the room was clean and comfortable. The parking lot was quite full, so I bet finding a spot during the season could be hard. I had a fruity drink at the bar that tasted good, though it was pretty light on the liquor. My husband's drink came with an extra charge they hadn't told him about. We had a good stay and will come back sometime. Shopping and restaurants are very close.

The rooms are a bit small, but the service was great and the restaurant was awesome. We enjoyed breakfast, especially the beignet, which you have to try. We had dinner there one night too. From the balcony, you can watch the Wednesday night fireworks over the beach. It was beautiful.

The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful, and the waitstaff at Remedy were great. But we were so unhappy with the room's cleanliness that we left a day early. I saved up for this family vacation, and leaving early felt like throwing away a day of money I'd worked hard for. I'm upset about the visit and glad to be gone. The room looked dated and was dim. Several lamps in the sleeping area had dead bulbs, and the laminate floor was hard to keep clean. They kindly brought a broom when we asked. There was mold and hair in the shower, two insects on the ceiling soon after we arrived, and the overall cleaning fell short of what we expected. It seemed like the person assigned to clean that room hadn't done a satisfactory job; it needed a thorough cleaning. The Wi-Fi was consistently slow and showed only three bars, so we used our own hotspot. The picture quality was fuzzy because of the slow connection. Remedy also seemed overpriced and had a limited menu. Despite the helpful staff, the condition and cleanliness mean we probably won't return.
