Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Fort Walton Beach Hurlburt Area

The pool was closed during our visit, but there was a cold snap in North Florida, so that was understandable. The rooms were clean and well maintained, and Matthew made check-in easy. We ate breakfast on six of our ten days, and it was hot, tasty, and plentiful each time.

Breakfast was a 10/10, with different choices each day and something for everyone: fresh fruit, eggs, bacon, sausage, yogurt, and a waffle maker. There’s a Dunkin right next door, plus other restaurants and shops. Housekeeping had some staffing trouble, but when the team came, they were fast, thorough, and polite. The front desk staff were especially welcoming. It’s a nice casual getaway, close enough to enjoy the beaches and area attractions while staying away from the chaos of Destin. The staff were helpful and very nice.

For a lower-cost place to stay on a work trip, this Fairfield did the job. Check-in was easy, the staff were helpful, and the price was good. Breakfast was free and decent, with both continental and hot choices, including the usual hotel waffle maker. Props, a very good craft brewery, is across the street, though there isn’t much else interesting nearby. I’d stay again for work or as a cheaper alternative to beachside hotels. My room had two queen beds and enough space. They were a little firm but comfortable for me. There were three pillows instead of four, which could be a problem if you’re sharing a bed. The hotel-style window AC cooled the room fine, and I didn’t notice outside noise. There’s also a fitness center with dumbbells up to 50 lbs and a small pool. I didn’t have time to use either.

Victor and the rest of the staff were so friendly and helpful, and the breakfast was amazing. The room was very clean, and I’ve never slept on a comfier hotel bed. We loved staying here and will definitely be back!
