We picked this place for the location, and it delivered: it was affordable, available, and on one of our favorite beaches. Unit 505 in the east tower had what we needed, but felt dated and wasn’t very clean. The furniture was old, and the bed and couches were uncomfortable. The pools are small but quite warm. The elevators move slowly, though with only six floors we never waited more than a minute. I’d call it about a 2 1/2 star place, not more.
The hotel was awesome, and we liked the pool, though sometimes it was too cold for me, so I went in the ocean instead. We had to sweep about every other day because so much beach sand got tracked inside.
There’s plenty of parking, and the staff keep the property clean and well maintained. The pool temperature was nice, and the staff were helpful and knowledgeable. The condominium is in a great spot: the city itself isn’t very walkable, but you can stay by the beach and walk there. Be sure to lock your vehicle.
The beach is beautiful and the facility is excellent. Ocean swimming may be off limits because of rip currents, and that seems to happen often, so keep it in mind if swimming in the ocean is a priority.
Condo 401 at gulf dunes was clean and well maintained, with a very nice view. The coffee tables and countertop had stains, but there were coasters there, so that wasn’t the owner’s fault. I’d definitely recommend renting it, and gave it five stars.
