Holiday Inn Express Fort Walton Beach Central by IHG

The hotel is pleasant and clean, but breakfast was the usual poor quality. Apples and the brown bananas were the only fresh, healthy things on display. Everything else was very low standard, especially the scrambled eggs and omelettes made with the usual fake powdered eggs that taste like cardboard. It's extremely disturbing and frustrating to see how far food quality in the USA has gone downhill.

The location is the only reason I'd stay here. The front desk wasn't friendly at check-in, but I didn't care until I saw the room. The TV was broken, with lines running down the screen, and the remote was held together with duct tape. I wasn't there to watch TV anyway, but then the toilet bowl was loose from the floor and we nearly fell off when sitting on it. We reported it and were told the hotel was sold out, so they couldn't move us. We paid the same as everyone else, so why did we get broken things? Not a great stay, though luckily we were only there for one night.

We stayed one night and would absolutely recommend this location, and stay again. It's convenient, and the lobby and pool area were spotless when we arrived. The hallways and our room were just as clean, which really impressed me. The pool was great, and they provided towels. The room was comfortable, and breakfast was average but hot, with a clean dining area.

We enjoyed our stay. The place was nice and clean. One issue: the kitchen smelled really strong during breakfast, so I'd suggest better ventilation.
