The room was dirty and smelled damp when I arrived. There was mold in the bathroom, ants on the air conditioner, and hair and food on the nightstand and lampshades. I even thought an ant had bitten me, though I felt okay after killing it and taking a zertek. Ms. Janelle was fantastic, but I had to buy bleach spray and Lysol because the room clearly hadn't been cleaned. I told the front desk, then put up the do not disturb sign after the room was cleaned. Later, I realized I'd misread my checkout date. A very rude man called to say my things were in lost and found. Some were missing when I went up, so I asked about my food container, Lysol, and bleach. He called over the radio and got no answer, then gave me a key. The things were still in the room. Housekeeping shouldn't be taking other people's belongings. Do not stay here.

We travel for my fiance's YouTube channel and stay at least four hotels a month, but the service here is getting horrible, especially on the first floor. I used points and extended my stay. When asked if I wanted service, I said yes, but after work at 6 PM the bed was still stripped, the trash hadn't been taken, and there were no clean towels. On the first night, my feet got filthy from a floor that hadn't been swept or mopped. There was a press-on toenail in front of the bed, an insulin cap by the nightstand, and a stale tortilla chip by the couch. Last time I stayed, there was no fitted sheet. I got in at 11 PM after a long workday and just crashed, then woke up disappointed and disgusted. I've asked to speak with someone beyond the front desk and gotten nowhere. I'm still waiting for a call about a dollar-bill-sized clump of long black hair in the sheets, and I have short blonde hair. For $150 a night, this should be a lot better. I'm about ready to switch to Hilton and leave Choice. This may be my last stay with this chain. Even a Motel 6 in Merrillville In had a much cleaner, better room. Sad that wools can't take two minutes to sweep a floor. My window looks onto 8 dirty pool filters, 5 AC units, 2 grills, an ashtray, and outdoor heaters beside a huge gas meter behind a privacy fence.

The staff were friendly, and breakfast was hot and well prepared, with the usual options plus sausage gravy and biscuits. The room was clean and modern. Renovations have recently been done and are still underway. We didn't have time to use the pool or other facilities, but we'd definitely stay again when we're back in town.

At Comfort Suites Fort Wayne Southwest, Gaby and Leah at the front desk made a real impression with their warmth and welcome. They recognized my Elite Gold membership too, a small detail I appreciated. The place looked well maintained from the moment we walked in. Solid stay, and I'd come back without a second thought. Leah and Gaby deserve a raise, and I'd recommend the hotel.
