The pool was about the only decent part, and at least the kids liked it. The double beds are tiny, there’s hardly room to move, and our room had a strange smell. The balcony door was so wonky that we had to be careful not to shut it all the way or we’d be locked out. There was a sign asking guests to hang towels to reuse them, and breakfast was very expensive instead of being included. Also, don’t stay here if you have a trailer.

This is the worst Marriott I’ve stayed at, or tried to stay at. My room was small and oddly laid out, but the bigger problems were a window that was slightly open with no way to shut it, on a night when the low was 28, and a door lock that was visibly broken. The front desk checked the window after I reported the problems, then told me there was nothing they could do. They said the hotel was full and there was no maintenance person available at 6:45 p.m. I’d booked more than a month ahead, so it’s hard to believe they didn’t know about one or both problems before I checked in. It felt like negligence or greed to put me in a room with several serious issues and hope I wouldn’t notice. Please don’t respond with a hollow line about hoping I’ll stay again or doing better next time.

How does this place qualify as a Bonvoy? The Wi-Fi is advertised as free, but barely loads a Google search and can’t open links or other pages, let alone email or video. I eventually reached the front desk about it and got no solution. Reviews show this has been going on for years, and Google warns about it too. That’s false advertising. Breakfast was also listed as free when we booked online, but we were charged extra. Coffee was $5.50, a bagel with only cream cheese was $6.50, and a 16.9-ounce bottle of Sweet tea was $5.50 at night. What a rip-off. There’s a strong room-fragrance smell that seems to cover up bad odors, the water barely gets warm, and housekeeping only comes every other day. Nobody seems to be at the desk, and they don’t answer the phone. My extremely hard bed didn’t face the old, small TV, and half the basic cable channels didn’t work or were pixelated. The area felt dangerous, with the parking lot right on a highway feeder and noise all the time. I’m a Bonvoy Elite member, but didn’t get even one free bottle of water. The incidental deposit was $80 instead of the usual $35.

The receptionist seemed unsure which documents a tourist needed for check-in, then acted unfriendly and dismissive.
