Motel 6 Fort Worth, TX – I-35 & I-20

My mother and I have always liked and recommended Motel 6 for its dog-friendly policy and good service, but not again after this stay from January 15 to January 18. I could shower on Friday, but there was no hot water later that night. My mother waited until Saturday, then ran the shower for three minutes and still got no hot water. When she complained, she was given excuse after excuse and told they did have hot water. A man checking out of room 216 said he had very little. On Friday my card stopped working. The man at the counter said being near other devices could make it stop, which I understood. But when I came back from walking the stockyard on Saturday, it failed again, and I was locked out twice. The first time I understood, but the second made me think it had been turned off deliberately after my mother complained about the hot water. I can buy hot coffee, but I can't go buy a bucket of hot water.

I only used the room for four hours and wish I could get a refund. There were baby roaches everywhere, only two towels, and the room lock was broken. The comforter had burns, there were no fitted sheets, and the room smelled like smoke. It was a horrible experience.

Dirt was everywhere, including the room, carpets, elevator, walls, and ceiling. Tables, the TV, and dresser stands had fingerprints. The room and hallways reeked of smoke and mildew, and I still can't get the smell out of my hair or belongings. The bathroom switch was broken, its door wouldn't shut properly, and the walls were thin. The property failed its own promise to offer clean, comfortable rooms and good experiences in the US and Canada. This place is disgusting, and I don't recommend it.

The room was wide, though most of the furniture had been taken out, and the location was close to downtown. I only needed somewhere quick for the weekend, so it did the job for the price, but I wouldn't recommend a longer stay. The carpet and elevator floors looked nasty, and the smell of weed was everywhere, even in the room designated as no weed. Take care in the elevator, you might get secondhand smoke. The AC broke three times; when I called the front desk, he fixed it almost immediately, as if he were limiting how much it could be used. My key card stopped working at least three times because it reset manually every day at 11 a.m., though I'm not sure why. Parking felt unsafe because of theft and the number of hobos around the entrance. You can find better places for the same price. Peace!
