I was relieved to find the room clean and free of bugs, including the mattress, and the bed was reasonably comfortable. The layout worked well for an overnight stay, and I didn’t hear noise from nearby places. There was plenty of parking, too. I was in Fortuna for a wedding and asked to check in early, and the friendly front desk guy accommodated me. I paid $120 for the night after booking just a day ahead, which I know can cost more anywhere. The room also had a few basic extras I hadn’t expected from a 2-star motel, and what Travel Inn advertises online matched what I found, sometimes better than I expected. I have no complaints and would stay at Travel Inn of Fortuna again if nearby relatives don’t have room for me. Some lower-star reviews seem to expect 4-5 star amenities that weren’t advertised or mentioned in person. Thanks, keep doing what you’re doing 👍

I spotted a few deer in the parking lot one evening, and they seemed to be enjoying the place too. The owner/manager was really friendly and made sure I had what I needed. It was peaceful and quiet, probably the most so of any hotel I’ve stayed at in Fortuna and Eureka. I felt safe there, with no druggies or other bad things going on. Good karma at Travel Inn. I really loved my stay and highly recommend checking it out.

The location was very quiet and close to restaurants. Paul's New York Pizza is within walking distance, and it was the best pizza I’ve ever had. A few blocks away, L'S Breakfast restaurant serves Humbolt coffee and comfort food, both excellent. The manager was very friendly and I often saw them cleaning rooms. The place was clean, with newer vedding and carpet, and the shower had great hot water.

Check-in and check-out were really quick, and it was good value for the money. The hotel is older, with simple rooms.

The room and grounds were clean, but the pricing felt deceptive. Google showed $61, while the rate they charged was the same as Comfort Inn and Super 8. The old style heater sounded like someone banging pots and pans. There was no AC, breakfast, or coffee, and it wasn’t near any restaurants. The furniture was old and repainted. I stayed at Redwood Inn on the other part of my trip and would recommend it over this place, since it had a modern heater, breakfast, and food nearby. I hate deceptive pricing games.
