Rodeway Inn Kissimmee Maingate West

We were desperate for somewhere to sleep after midnight, when other places were sold out, and were glad this one had a room. We’d picked it because we knew some roadways allow dogs. The dog fee was $15 plus a small security deposit. Since we checked in so late, they let us stay until noon, which we really appreciated. Breakfast was available too, though we were so tired and hungry we didn’t manage to try it. The staff were helpful and friendly enough to a group of weary people. Thank you.

Bedbugs made this one of the worst hotel stays I’ve had. We saw them crawling on me, which was extremely distressing. The staff seemed completely unfazed when we reported it, giving the impression this might not have been a new problem. We needed to wash all our clothes and belongings right away, but the hotel was reluctant to give us quarters for laundry, and complained when we asked for more. It caused major disruption, stress, and extra expense. Cleanliness and guest safety should be taken seriously, and the response felt unacceptable. I’d strongly caution others before staying here. After going back and forth with the hotel, they refused to refund the days we didn’t stay, despite promising us a refund (Wgens). We stayed only one night of an originally four day booking, then left because of the bedbug infestation. It’s disappointing, and we feel attacked for raising a health hazard. We contacted the health department that night and plan to contact the better business bureau. I’ll likely never get that money back, and that’s fine. I just don’t want this happening to another group.

Cockroaches, stained sheets, and hair everywhere made it clear that cleanliness isn’t this place’s strong point. I wanted something cheap but at least somewhere I wouldn’t feel like I was sleeping in the forest. The location is kind of good, close to the parks but also close to traffic. And the noisy air conditioner wouldn’t turn off. There wasn’t really breakfast, not even milk. Just a waffle maker, coffee, bread, and butter. I’m sad this place is rated so well on Booking. I couldn’t find a way to review it there, and now I understand why. This morning I asked the manager to do something about the bugs, then one fell right onto my forehead while I was in bed. I’ll never trust Booking reviews again. Somehow this is a 7ish hotel on Booking!

For a budget hotel, this was the best I’ve stayed in for a long time. I booked 4 nights for just over 200 dollars near Disney, and the place was very clean, including the beds. The rooms are a bit small but decent, and the pool looked clean, with clear water and no leaves or anything odd floating in it. It was also close to restaurants and stores. The room came with a shuttle to Disney, which got us there pretty much right before each park opened so we could rope drop. It picked us up at night too, and we could message the driver if we wanted to leave earlier. Our stay during spring break was quiet, with no loud neighbors or weird things going on. There’s a little fridge and microwave in the room, and vending machines with things like ramen for a snack. The TV worked and the cable was clear. Breakfast was basic, with waffles to make, toast, and coffee, but that wasn’t a big deal. The one other drawback was the shower floor, which got very slippery and had a strange incline. Maybe bring a super cheap slip mat.
