Weekly Rental at Orange Lake Resort for a Family of 8 People

Our family spent Memorial Saturday chilling by the pool, and the music made it a blast. Aussie DJ Mark played a great set, especially those 90s RNB jams, and had everyone dancing in the water. We’ve just become owners, and Orange lake has really taken things up a level. This gives us a great reason to come back. Hope the other Holiday Inn resorts offer this kind of experience too. Keep it up!!

The villas are huge, but getting around the large resort and its layout didn’t feel very guest friendly. The repeated pitches to buy a time share or points didn’t help. There aren’t many restaurants, and the pools we found were limited and overcrowded, which takes away from the resort’s beauty and quiet. The villas sit right on the 54 holes of golf courses, so the golf setting affects the living area and, for me, ruins the feel for golfers. Also, keep an eye out for gators.

There’s a lot to like, but several choices here are baffling when they seem like they’d be cheap and easy to fix. I rented a nice 2 bedroom suite, and my father stayed in another unit. We both noticed the awful chemical smell from the towels. The lazy river tubes were another shared complaint. Everyone in our group agreed they’re too big and overinflated, and guests who’d been coming for a decade or more said the tubes are awful too. The only position that sort of works is standing in the center hole with your arms over the front. The kitchen trash cans are tiny, about bathroom size, but the bags they supply are huge, so you have to take the trash out constantly. At night, the rooftop AC hums like a car idling and makes it hard to sleep. The master bedroom is large, but the toilet and shower area is badly designed. You have to stand in the shower stall just to close the door when using the toilet or shower. There’s enough space in that bedroom to have laid it out better, and my father mentioned the same issue in his unit.

This was our third stay at Orange lake, and we finally made the most of it. There are several golf courses to pick from, and the legends walk is pretty legit. Golfing in the dark is hard to beat. Every room we’ve had has been really nice and laid out well. Everything’s here and done well enough that we had no reason to leave.
